In the State of Karnataka a Police Officer was a forgotten soul once he relinquished his office on superannuation. He was remembered only symbolically on Commemoration Day on 21st of October and 2nd April as a flag day every year. They were solemn occasion and a ceremonial get together respectively sponsored by the State. They were organized and sponsored officially by the State. They were not forums for a retired police officer to be heard.

Founded by likeminded retired police officers and several others.
The formation of a Welfare Association of retired police officers was conceived and given momentum by some likeminded retired police officers who had excelled in their call of duty while in service.
The official launching of the Association was followed by formulation of Bye Laws and enrolling of members.
Though there were initial hiccups the membership gained acceleration.
presently we have 528+ members on the rolls.
It has established friendly and fruitful relations with similar organisations of other States. I am confident that in future , it will grow as an Institution committed to the welfare of Retired Officers and will increase the activities manifold. - Shri. The Karnataka State Retired Police Officers Welfare Association, has its own specious buiding with good accomodation for stay. The office bearers have been doing excellent service, in providing health care facilities to the retired officers and policemen.
